All the drama at my work: Part 2

The next day, I walked in as usual and greeted everybody as usual, even the co-worker who used the information that I shared in confidence. As for further discussion and conversation, I really didn't want to talk to her, at least until I was sure that I wasn't angry. Also, I was waiting for her to initiate a conversation. She totally ignored me throughout the day.

The day after the next day, I INITIATED that we have a conversation. I felt like, If I didn't initiate a conversation, she would have ignored me and that would have affected our WORKING relationship weird and awkward.

During our conversation, she kept using the phrase "I am sorry, but...," Is it only me, when you say sorry, JUST SAY SORRY. When she kept using "but" everything she said to explain what had happened and how she executed it became her defense. Moreover, she thinks she is not really doing anything wrong.

The conversation lasted about 10 minutes.

She totally ignored me starting from the next day. My thinking was since we have worked together for 5 years, she would still have the decency to respect our working relationship. That includes greeting in the morning, every time it was me who said it first, and having a conversation about any situation at work.

What hurt the most was that she totally used me and tossed me aside after I opened up to her about my inner thoughts and insecurities.

I can work with various types of people even if I don't like them or they don't like me. I think, in any working environment, you must respect the people whom you work with and expect the same. You don't have to be friends nor your job requires you to be. Also, I am patting myself as being emotionally mature in my 30s whereas she is still immature in her 40s (not judging her).

This incident proved to me again I have to be careful where I put my trust. Don't give wrong. This doesn't discourage me from opening up. It will take a little bit longer.

That is it.

PS: She found a new job. She told pretty much everybody we work with in person, except me and the other lady she used. Again, this proves how immature she acted in a situation she created. Still, I am in awe of how somebody can flip 180 degrees after one incident.
